Downer Blasting Services joins the team at Commodore Mine
Downer Blasting Services (DBS) has recently been awarded a three year contract for blasting services at the Commodore Coal Mine.
This award see’s DBS delivering up to 7.7 million bank cubic metres of broken rock each year for the operation. The win for DBS follows extensive analysis of Commodore’s specific requirements; including stringent environmental considerations.
As part of the mobilisation, DBS has established a new reload facility for the mine working closely with the onsite Project Management team to ensure a smooth transition between suppliers. The contract includes the supply of ammonium nitrate, emulsion, electronic initiation systems, Mobile Processing Unit (MPU) and a crew consisting of two (2) shotfirers and one (1) MPU operator.
The first blast was fired successfully on January 8, 2018.
This contract further adds another project to DBS’ growing presence in South East Queensland.
